Sometimes it's just not worth it.
I had a booking at a * restaurant and needed to move the arrival time by one hour. I could go online and see this wouldn't be the slightest issue.
I couldn't amend the booking online, so I had to get in touch with the restaurant.
To be clear at the outset, this is in a country with English as the official language.
I politely e-mailed, could they please change my booking to one hour earlier?
I received a response, days later, only confirming my original booking and received a text with the original booking time.
I followed up again by e-mail with the same request.
No reply.
It's been more than two weeks since my original request.
I called the restaurant, and a voice mail picked up rambling off a bunch of random digits that wasn't the restaurant number, and didn't include the name of the restaurant. Unprofessional.
I dialed again to make sure I called the correct number. I did.
The voice mail box was full. Unprofessional.
At this point I gave up, called my hotel concierge (the restaurant is in a hotel), and let them handle it.
If a restaurant is this sloppy pre-arrival, why would I ever want to spend $500 to eat there? Something, or more likely, everything, is going to go off the rails.
